	Short Biography - Irene Friesen Diverse life experiences have prepared me to establish Terra Mandala – a place where people come to heal, learn and reflect.  At Terra Mandala, our services  integrate spiritual teachings, ecotherapy, healing, activism and art.  Let me tell you a little about my spiritual path. While studying religion at a Mennonite college, I discovered feminist theology and the concept of the androgyny of God, and came to understand that the Divine cannot be limited by gender. I was grateful when the women’s spirituality movement reintroduced the goddess to our culture.   While living in the Morden area in the early 80’s, I was involved in peace activism.  After moving to Winnipeg in 1984, my community work included activism in the areas of international development, human rights and employment equity. The knowledge and experience that I bring to my work with Terra Mandala includes… Herbalism studies with East West Herbology Institute Applied Counseling Certificate, UofM Focusing. Level 4 Certificate in Focusing & Complex Trauma, Prairie Region Centre for Focusing (pending) Traveled to Siberia to experience first-hand the confluence of shamanism, Buddhism and Tibetan Medicine.  Student with The Foundation for Shamanic Studies since 2002. 30+ years experience as an educator.
